Abridged National Vision for Malaw - Malawi 2063
Abridged National Vision for Malaw - Malawi 2063
Malawians have spoken. The Malawi 2063 (MW2063) aims to transform Malawi into a wealthy and self-reliant industrialized ‘upper-middle-income country’ by the year 2063.
Already, projections indicate that if the economy grows at an annual average rate of 6 percent, Malawi will attain the low middle-income status by 2030.
As a matter of fact, if the country is more innovative and productive, both the low and upper middle-income status will be reached much earlier.
This Vision has been developed through an inclusive and participatory multi-stakeholder consultative process involving Malawians of different backgrounds from all corners of the country and in the diaspora.
The MW2063 outlines collective aspirations and goals of our people towards the year 2063.
It is anchored on the three pillars of Agricultural Productivity and Commercialization; Industrialization; and Urbanization.
It articulates the enablers that will propel the country towards achieving economic independence, inclusive wealth creation, self-reliance and a high quality of life for all its citizens.
